How to apply to the University of Nicosia from Lebanon

A step-by-step guide for Lebanese students applying to UNIC in Cyprus: requirements, documents, intakes, visa, and how to get free help.

Applying to the University of Nicosia (UNIC) from Lebanon is simpler than most families expect. Programmes are taught in English, Cyprus is a 40-minute flight from Beirut, and the application itself is online. Here is the process, step by step.

1. Choose the right programme

Start with your goals and your grades. UNIC teaches across eight schools: Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Social & Human Sciences, Education and Law. Most programmes are taught on the main campus in Nicosia, and 10 are also offered in Athens. Some programmes, especially Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy, have specific science requirements, so check these first.

2. Prepare your documents

  • Secondary school certificate and transcripts (e.g. Lebanese Baccalaureate)
  • A copy of your valid passport
  • Proof of English (IELTS, TOEFL or a UNIC placement test)
  • A passport-size photo and, for some programmes, a personal statement

3. Submit your application

Applications are submitted online. A complete, well-organised application is assessed faster, missing documents are the most common cause of delay. UNICedar reviews everything and submits for you, free of charge.

4. Offer, confirmation and visa

Once you receive your offer, you confirm your place following UNIC's instructions. UNIC's international office then guides you through the student entry permit, and after arrival you complete your residence registration.
